| I like this one - I used to have a cassette copy that had bits of chat from, I presume, the tapers. At one point, maybe in the Scarlet jam, one guy says "what happened to the dead?" |

corkscrew- The source you had may have come from a different taper than me. There were always at least a dozen rigs going at a show during that weekend. What may have prompted the comment you recall is that during that Scarlet> Fire 2nd set opener, the BGP bluecoats conducted a sweep and raid of the the FOB tapers. At the Greek, there is a sweet spot zone which was where the serious tapers needed and wanted to be,. At this point we were still in the era of taping being not allowed. I believe the official taper section commenced at the
Berkeley Community Theatre run in '84. Anyway the sweep caused quite a disruption in the "Force" and a bunch went down. I managed to survive. |

Just goes to show what courage tapers had before the OTS - they understood fully the importance of their mission and what they were capturing...at least most did. Wasn't Touch of Grey the official taper song at one time? (~);-}
Thanks again for surviving, musigny23, and for letting us know what went down at the Greek this fine evening. YOU ARE STEALTH! The Greek seems to produce very clean recordings - especially when you're in that sweet spot, "where the serious tapers needed and wanted to be."

hunter - do you use the Soundtrack Pro 3 app within Final Cut Studio to do your matrices? I've been thinking of experimenting with some personal matrix attempts and i just got Final Cut Pro 7...
thanks for all the great work! |

| I use Soundtrack Pro for cleaning up artifacts and mixing all-digital, same-speed sources. Everything else is done in FCP, then I cut it up in Audacity (started doing that this year) and compress it using xACT. Happy matrixing! |
