|I had no idea this band played Dark Side. Thanks for the chance to hear it!
|This was Friday night at Bonnaroo ... actually early Saturday morning, since the the Flaming Lips time slot was 12 midnight to 2am.
Definitely a top 10 musical event ... this was the highlight of the festival for me.
Here is a YoutTube clip from the opening song. The video or even the recording does not do justice to the ""event"" that was happening all around us.
At 1:00 in look at the giant ball that Wayne Coyne is standing in ... on the right edge of that ball, you will see our mic stand. Pretty close to the stage and a good 15,000+ people were behind us.
High times and great music for sure ... it's been since the Dead that I have had an experience like this at a live music event.
|You are absolutely correct! A Lips show is not "just" a show! 2nd time I've seen them at 'roo (3rd time overall)-and truly THE highlight of the weekend for me and my fellow Solorooers!
|HOLY SHIT!! How did I not know about this. As a huge DEAD head...
@ bluedakota, "High times and great music for sure ... it's been since the Dead that I have had an experience like this at a live music event."
I couldn't agree with your more. I lost interest in Bonnaroo a few years ago, but for, two sets of the Flaming Lips, the second being Dark Side of the Moon, I would have made the trip for sure.
Thank you for the efforts & sharing this.
