-- THE SHACK PROJECT --
This is an effort to seed all existing MMW shows, and yes, preserving the original SHN/FLAC filesets. The seeding will proceed chronologically for the most part, with exceptions as we feel the vibe to seed other gigs from other times.
Thanks to MMW for allowing their music to be recorded....really, thank you.
Huge thanks goes out to the tapers, without whom this wouldn't be possible...and those that have helped get the tunes to our ears.
And thanks to the other 5 guys I've dragged into this and who seem committed to the cause: Louie, Mike Tom, Todd & Jeff....we're all listening to these shows and hopefully circulating the best versions.
All shows listed here in SHN/FLAC will be seeded:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmw
These shows will be seeded as well, either by me or by one of a few other kind souls:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmwaccess
Shows listed here circulate in some manner. We are looking for as close to the original source as we can get so if you can help out with any of the following, we'd all appreciate it:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmwneeds (this list is in the process of being compiled...maybe forever?)
I've started a thread over here for us to be able to discuss this project:

enjoy the grooves,

***FOR ALL YOUR SETLIST NEEDS***
MMW Performance History @ http://mmwhistory.com - this is a fantastic resource that allows you to look at info on gigs by MMW and related side projects and guest appearances; big thanks to Tom for creating this page.

We are actively updating all setlists as we seed, and also others outside the particular order of the project.
db.etree is also being updated in tandem with the updates to Tom's pages -- both the source and show pages.

It occurs to me this is an interesting transition point for the band where the Uninvisible tunes had been around for a while by this point and the band had no other really new tunes popping up. This tour they introduce a number of new cover tunes: Afro Blue, Legalize It, Down On Me; and then the resurfacing of some older tunes (i.e. I think Beeah being played on this tour was the first time the tune had entered rotation for quite some time).
And then come the Summer and Fall of '03 we started to hear the tunes that would end up on EOTWPjic ... anyway, this spring of '03 was sort of an interesting pocket in their time line ...
And for those who are fans of Down On Me: Some of you may recall that I noted a handful of performances in the seeds from 2000 earlier this year where the band played a Down On Me/Tsukemono medley -- i.e. the melody from the former and bass line and beat from the latter.
Well, check out 4/11/1997 for the earliest noted performance I've found of the Down On Me melody:
http://db.etree.org/shn/78853
... the show opens with an Improv built around the Down On Me melody -- pretty cool!

Nice to see this here, I believe this is the only recording I've ever made with the hypercards.
I did eventually find more of that opening tune, 3:17 more to be exact. It still starts abruptly, so it may not be 100% complete, but it's much closer. I patched it into this recording, re-tracked slightly, & made a flac fileset. I suppose I should seed it? |

Now seeding the flac version of this show with additional music in track 1:
