The changes the Dead were going through since 1969-70 were quite apparent by the time 1971 came around.
I wonder if the people who attended these 1971 shows were wondering what happened to songs as "New Potato Caboose" "Turn On Your Lovelight" "Alligator" "Viola Lee Blues" "The Eleven" "Duprees Diamond Blues" and others. By '71 so many songs of two/three years ago were dropped permanently and replaced by new ones. |
