- This was the show that got me into trying to find a way to combine
an AUD source with a SBD source after the fact. I had experience
doing live matrix recordings in the 90s, but I had never attempted to do it as a
post-production exercise; i.e. trying to synch the two sources after
the performance had already happened. Second set had been a favorite in
high school, so when I hear that the board had been seeded at eTree I
was excited to hear it, but much to my dismay, the SBD source was
not nearly as exciting as the AUD. I thought about how great it would be
if I could combine the two sources for Scarlet->Fire. I first attempted to synch
the two in 2002 but the results were not worthy, mainly because of the AUD source
I was using. I kept at it, trying different techniques with different shows, and
then in late '04 seeded Sick Bits Vol. 1. Now, with Dr. Bob Wagner's balcony
recording, I am able to offer up the whole first set and the infamous Scarlet->Fire
in matrix format.
- The whole show has been tagged, so any FLAC player should read the info.
- Tags will be stripped when converting to wav, etc.
- Samson through the rest of the show is shnid=90497 which is Charlie Miller's
16 bit transfer of Dr. Bob's master. Nothing was changed with these files except
adding the metadata tags. I did this so one could have a complete fileset.
If you already have that shnid or the 24bit version for that matter, these
will be redundant files, the only addition are the tags.
- The first set is improved by the matrix over its separate respective sources,
however, the second set is such a great pull by Dr. Bob that the resulting matrix
is really not an improvement. Get the 24bit Scarlet->Fire from shnid=90530, an
amazing recording, amazing Healy mix, and amazing acoustics at the Fox.
- Special Thanks to Dr. Bob Wagner for lending me his master for the first set.
- Thanks to Michael Dayton for letting me use his Nak deck, Apogee converter and
Peak Pro for the transfer.
- Thanks to Darrin Sacks for the SBD and Mike Parillo for the SBD Stranger edit.
- Thanks to Charlie Miller for tranferring and mastering Dr. Bob's second set master.
Deadicated to The Fox's Den.

Thanks Chris :>)
This is a real treat!
|Thanks Mr. C! I am looking forward to hearting this one :->
|Uh..."hearing this one" that is.
|The transition into Fire is all "heart" - when I listen to it I definitely heart it more than hear it....
|I downloaded this from LL. How do I help seed here? I did it a few days ago with another torrent, but can't seem to figure out how I did it. I use uTorrent.
|Just listened to on a walk through the woods with my dog. KILLER GREAT JOB!!!!!
|Q: I downloaded this from LL. How do I help seed here?
add this torrent to uTorrent. The window has a box giving a default location to download.
There is a little box with 3 dots to the right. Click on this and browse for the directory which contains your files.
Pick "download none" so that none of your files are changed, and click OK. uTorrent should perform a check that the files match and start downloading.
If there is a problem, stop the torrent, right click on the torrent name.
Advanced>set download location
to browse for the correct folder and start again.
|Thanks deadyogi51. I am seeding now. Peace!
i'm only on ramble on rose. looking forward to the rest.
glad to see the resurrection of sick bits. i have most of the other ones and was just listening to Manor Downs 82.
The 3 volume 81 Uptown Theatre is probably my favorite but i love them all.
|Awesome show and excellent sound! Good to see a new Sick Bits in circulation. And thanks for transferring Dr. Wagner's Set 1 recording.
|Great to see a Sick Bits again. Thank you!

|Thanks a lot!!
|Chris, you are quite possibly the best friend the fox's den has ever had.
Drew (FDR '02)
