| Description | The Turntable Sessions #2 - Winter 2002 (Boulder Theater - Boulder, CO)
2/20/2002
Okatava MC012's > Denecke ps-2 > Sony PCM-M1
Tranfer: Onkyo DT-9000 optical to Hoontech DSP 24V (CoolEdit 2000)
Tracked & split with EAC
This was the first time out with the Oktavas, and I didn't have the signal properly unbalanced, resulting in a low volume recording (normalized in CE2k).
Billed as:
The Turntable Sessions #2 - Winter 2002 (Boulder Theater - Boulder, CO) featuring:
DJ Olive - turntables
Scotty Hard - turntables
Charlie Burnham - violin
Min Xiao Fen - Pipa
Mike iLL - vocals/guitar (Set II ONLY)
Chris Wood - bass (Set II ONLY)
Billy Martin - the host and percussionist
John Medeski - keyboards
The show originated in collaboration with NYC's EXITART LP Show last July. Each DJ improvises in a duet setting with the other instrumentalists and a final encore of the entire ensemble concludes. This is the first of a series of tours throughout the US and beyond this year.

-- THE SHACK PROJECT --
This is an effort to seed all existing MMW shows, and yes, preserving the original SHN/FLAC filesets. The seeding will proceed chronologically for the most part, with exceptions as we feel the vibe to seed other gigs from other times.
Thanks to MMW for allowing their music to be recorded....really, thank you.
Huge thanks goes out to the tapers, without whom this wouldn't be possible...and those that have helped get the tunes to our ears.
And thanks to the other 5 guys I've dragged into this and who seem committed to the cause: Louie, Mike Tom, Todd & Jeff....we're all listening to these shows and hopefully circulating the best versions.
All shows listed here in SHN/FLAC will be seeded:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmw
These shows will be seeded as well, either by me or by one of a few other kind souls:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmwaccess
Shows listed here circulate in some manner. We are looking for as close to the original source as we can get so if you can help out with any of the following, we'd all appreciate it:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmwneeds (this list is in the process of being compiled...maybe forever?)
I've started a thread over here for us to be able to discuss this project:

enjoy the grooves,
Louie, Mike, Tom, Todd, Jeff & dug |

***FOR ALL YOUR SETLIST NEEDS***
MMW Performance History @ http://mmwhistory.com - this is a fantastic resource that allows you to look at info on gigs by MMW and related side projects and guest appearances; big thanks to Tom for creating this page.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
We are actively updating all setlists as we seed, and also others outside the particular order of the project.
db.etree is also being updated in tandem with the updates to Tom's pages -- both the source and show pages.

Okay, this isn't *really* an MMW gig, but all three of them are there and playing (on Set II!) so I figure this is a cool way to begin the 2002 seeds ...
If you aren't into DJs, then this is NOT for you! HA!
To be honest, I'm not into DJs ... and the first set of this is *okay* ... but set II was pretty cool and groovin', I thought, and well worth hearing ... so get this for Set II ... that's when all of MM+W are playing/participating ... |
