Comments and Credits:

This collection of bust-outs, brilliant covers and remarkable jams gathers together many of my favorite moments from the first two years of "Phish 3.0" -- the band's impressive third incarnation.
I tried to avoid including anything that was already on the official Live Bait compilations, but couldn't resist the incredible "Down With Disease > What's The Use" jam from Alpine Valley -- one of my all-time favorite Phish moments.
As my list of favorites grew, I decided on a two-disc format, and only later realized that this collection has ended up looking like a "fantasy show" of sorts!
I know it may seem odd that none of the new Joy or Party Time songs are included, but this is primarily just because I don't think many of those songs have fully come into their own yet. Any "favorites" collection is inevitably subjective, and I hope you like this one.
All tracks have been selected from the best AUD sources I could find, then converted to wav and retracked in Audacity to apply fades, etc before restoring to flac with xACT. Details on all the AUD source recordings are included in the infotext file.
Happy New Year!
Stay Wide,
InsectEffect

Huge Thanks to the band, and to the tapers, seeders, and archivists who've made this music available to be freely shared.
Thanks also to ckeiner, whose Phish Listening Room blog was useful in finding the 'best' sources: http://phishlisteningroom.blogspot.com/

I've also got a high quality mp3 fileset, formatted with tags and cover art, that's ready to go too. Convenient for folks who want to archive the lossless but also add to an iPod or something. If someone can recommend a good place to seed it, I'll be happy to put it up too...

This would be Phabulous to be able to put on the ipod.
Can you do a SendSpace link or MegaUpload link?
Thank you for sharing and seeding.

I second that! Thanks for the work put into putting this together and big thanks to the tapers who put it out there night after night. Any chance you could do a list of the sources these songs came from? Peace. MR |

| great job. I thought the Crosseyed and Painless from alpine valley that year was a slightly better, but that's cause it rolls into a super tight ambient jam/alpine jam. also i might be biased cause i was there. |

| dead-chef, just download, convert to mp3, and put on your ipod. get over the audio loss, it's not that bad, i do it all the time! |

| As I know this was an incredible effort, I hate to even suggest anything but...there were a couple of excellent versions of many of the new songs. Maybe a single disc with your "best of" from '09-10? Perhaps a second disc with covers?!? Sorry, but you seem to have the resources and I really love compliations. Thanks a bunch for this one. |

JodyCambodi, thanks for that, I knew there was something... The Internet: yep, there's a site for that.

poizon45, "just download, convert" -- true, true, but the advantage to grabbing these is that everything is already formatted, so you can just drop them in!

tommie01, "excellent versions of many of the new songs" -- agreed, but these selections were what made the cut for my (admittedly self imposed) time constraints, and the tracks were ordered for flow...
Perhaps you could add a third disc of standout new songs? That would be great!

Sorry but I'm still in the analog "mix-tape" generation : (
- just made a great Panic mix-tape last week : )
I might make that a project for an additional resolution!!! |
