This is pretty much a lo-fi recording, but does provide the
entire concert in one file-set. The deck was turned on & off
between songs, resulting in very abrupt transitions, a few
songs clipped at beginning. Tape-flip at the start of TUIB.

| The database lists the SBD as the only circulating source of this show. I have never seen a AUD of this show. |

Yikes… one of my skeavy AUDs has been outed….
I was 17 years old when I made this tape, if that's an excuse....
Equipment: an Aiwa Walkman and a single Shure mic handheld, the model number I have no idea but it cost about $40.
The deck only had a mini input so I had to use an adapter for the quarter inch mic plug - any static noise or drop-outs is because of that. It was a frequent problem when I tried recording shows this way - several were unlistenable and have long since been discarded. I learned quickly that such crap was no way to record a show, but alas, no time machine, so this is what you get.
I have a few other shows from this rig, but all circulate in better quality already so no need to exhume them.
Early show was recorded from about the fifth row a bit to the right side.
Late show was recorded from the center about 25-30 rows back.
All apologies for the skeaviness.

HI! Thanks for the comments re the recording rig. Don't sell it short, the recording isn't all that bad, just no bass end from that mic, but really quite listenable imo. I cleaned up the drop-outs and most of the static and tried to fix the speed warble in Mission with some success. Anyway, the circulating late show was missing the end of the concert, so here it is for the completists. Thanks again for taping this all those years ago! Let me know if you have any other JGB masters for transferring.
PS and re Painter's Mill 11-03-81, an Aud does exist, I've heard back around '82. So if someone wants to contribute that would be cool... that might be the only part of Nov 81 that is missing I think. |

| IIRC, the mic had a frequency response of 80-13K. It was a cheap vocal mic. |
