First song in the setlist archive is listed as Space Wrangler; Alan
says: "My Blind Pig cassette masters are missing the first song or so.
I forgot what happened, a battery problem or tape problem or something,
I remember running home -- literally, lived a few blocks away -- and
getting what I needed to tape and missing the beginning of the show.
For what it's worth it was a "sit down" show, due to the size of the
stage. It was the one and only time they played there! I know I was the
sole taper and there was NOT a board tape made either. Wes, for what
ever reason wasn't running tape."
Slashes denote tape flips; no music is missing other than noted above. |

wow, pretty rare to see a completely uncirculated gem appear like this...many thanks to alan and dave for getting this out there!
for anyone unfamiliar with the blind pig, its pretty much unbelievable some of the acts that have played that tiny, tiny room and have gone on to huge careers.
i hope that place sticks around for years to come.... |

here's a little background on the venue...in its own words ;)

Any chance the madness from Kalamazoo 3/30/94 is in the next bunch? Or Majestic Theater in Detroit 5/93 (I think).
I know for a fact that both were taped as I wore out analog copies of each that I acquired at In Flight in East Lansing.
Thanks for the nice surprises from the mid-90's in mid-Michigan! |

cfmwh99,
I can't recall why, but I didn't make the Majestic show, but I'm quite sure that Scotty taped it, which was likely the source you referenced. Mark and I missed 3/30/94, as we were doing Dead tour. We did tape the Mars show on 3/28/94 on our way to Atlanta, which was another HOT show and is in circulation. Scotty may have also taped the K-Zoo State Theatre, I'm not sure.
Cheers,
Alan |

I have DAT clones of the 5-11-93 Majestic show from Scotty's source...my first Panic show.
I haven't pulled them out in some time, lemme see what I have....
Alan, I asked Dave if you have a copy of the St. Andrew's Panic show from July 1992...did you, Mark or Scotty happen to grab that? I'm guessing one of you guys did, I heard a cassette of it when I lived in CO in early 1993.
Can't imagine there were too many rolling decks for 'Panic in Detroit' at that time.
And thanks so much for kicking down gems like this.... |

Issac,
Unfortunately, I didn't make/tape the July '92 St. Andrews show, and I can't recall if Scotty did or not? Mark didn't really start taping until we got the B&K's together in spring '93. I remember being bummed I wasn't able to see it though. St. Andrews was one of my favorite places to see and record a show.

| Dang, Almost missed this one. I was at this one. I've had the cassette from In flight for years. Nice to get a much lower gen digital version. Thanks for this and all the other great michigan shows! Issac, I think the st andrews shows came from some one out of the Grosse Pointe area who was stealthing a lot back then. But then they may have been from scotty or even been shaper. Oh yeah drop me a line sometime!!! |
