I saw this show when I was 19, my third Dead show. Saw the boys a few hundred times until Jerry died. This show was always in my top 3.
I actually recorded the show with a mono Sony portable cassette, lol, and got the NRPS show before it too. Posted the NRPS show on the Archive. Over 7,000 folks have downloaded my mono NRPS recording.
I listened to my little cassette of NRPS and the Dead for around 25 years until I found a better recording, but it had that high pitch wine in it. Then a better copy circulated a few years ago.
But I have to say this is the best recording I've ever heard. It's truly a pleasure to hear all the instruments on one of the best shows the Dead ever played.
Now if someone could find a decent recording of the NRPS set earlier that night, better than the one I made on my little cassette player 41 years ago, and post that too it would be far out, cuz, Blackjack made that pedal steel sing that night.

| I cant wait to hear this! I once got into a drunken argument that this was Kieth's first show. I was wrong of course, but you couldn't tell me that at the time. I think it was the fact that there were many 'firsts" at this show that somehow I thought it was Kieth's first. Oh well, the black eye healed and now an upgrade! |
