I posted an album of photos from this great "Freaky" night at Brooklyn Bowl:

I'll be posting/seeding all 3 acts -- SCFJ, Scott Metzger's new project Wolf!, and El Ten Eleven.
I'm also going to attempt to torrent out the 24 bit/96k versions of all 3 as well, now that I'm blessed with a 35/35 FIOS connection. Let's see how it goes! |

| does it seem like any hendrix tribute always brings out a living colour member? the mmw featured V Reid...anyway, thanks for your work, scott. |

Yeah, Vernon does indeed pay tribute to Hendrix really nicely. I was at a couple of the Shack Parties back in the day and they played some Hendrix with Vernon.
Even further back in the day, once a year the NYC Black Rock Coalition used to do a Hendrix tribute and the Living Color guys were generally involved. I actually attended and taped (most of -- until I ran out of batteries about 4 1/2 hours in -- it went on and on for hours!) one of them in 1997 I think. I pulled it out of my archives recently and realized that I have no clue who is playing on it and they don't really introduce anyone! The only person that I have a clear recollection playing for a few songs was Mark White, the Spin Doctors' bassist. Maybe a future BARN? |

Scott--
Vernon has an amazing memory for those kind of things...if we get a copy to him, I betcha he can name most of the
cats playing at that BRC. |

Scotty, it's Hal.
Track 8 is Freedom from Cry of Love. |

| MMWArchives: I'm not 100% sure that Vernon was at the BRC Hendrix tribute I taped. The likelihood is very high that he was involved, but I can't recall. |

| i'd love to see a BARN treatment on it! listening to 10.29.98 phish second set right now--your recordings are so nice, and the reba on there is life changing (but shhhhh! it's much better than the other source...but, we appreciate all sources ;)). saw living colour back in the day A LOT, man they rocked and to me, the fact they happened to be born black was meaningless--just good r 'n' r. |
