Here is last night's Flynn set from outside of Boston. He opened up for Ellis Paul. The show was sold out but I was taken care of by Ralph, the Manager for both of these gentlemen. Boy was I glad as the show was terrific. It was held in a small Church. I worked all day and received an email and phone call from Ralph after 6:00 pm. He gave me the good news, I cleaned up, grabbed my gear, and left the office at 6:40. I arrived about 7:30, parked, and got in line. i secured a spot in the 2nd row and set up stagelip. Jim the sound engineer was very gracious. This is part of a series of the Homegrown Coffee House. They happen to use the church for shows.
Flynn is originally from Ireland but makes the Boston area his home. He has written some very good songs and his sense of humor is so funny! He only played 7 songs, but they were very well received. He is headlining the end of April, and if I am in the area, I will definitely want to attend. As soon as his set ended, Ellis was introduced and played his 1st set. Between sets, there was a large hall where they served Coffee and Carrot Cake. All homeade.
After the show I walked outside and it began to snow as I got into the van. Late night food/dinner was a stop at New Garden for some Egg Foo Young, Pork Fried Rice, and Chicken Wings. Very tasty!
