| Description | Great show at the Rio last night! Fun seeing many friends from the "old days" so to speak. It felt like the old days too- a small, half full room, on a weeknight... lots of 420 in the air... very attentive crowd, and the band appreciated IT. Mike commented more than once how much he was digging the vibe... I think the Makisupa was a divergence from the planned setlist, based on the vibe of the crowd. And it was way cool! Quite different from the Phish version... I was setup near the soundboard, had planed to go closer but venue kind of freaked when they saw my "tri-pod" and started to scramble a little bit to see if I would be allowed to bring it in. After a few mins of back and forth, I was escorted to a spot just in front of the board (which is actually at the back of the room), and told that sound was best right there so that's where I should record from! So yeah, this is a "FOB" recording, with a caveat: still kind of far back. That said, it really is a small room, with nice acoustics, so the recording is pretty sweet anyway. Unless anyone was running stealth mode, this is the only (audience) source. Enjoy!

wow, so fast and so glad! great show, so much fun last night :) smiles all around
i do have a minor correction/thing to add: The drummer duet song at the start of set II is Mount Philo (if that is what it is still called), and i guess they went into Deranged from the end of that. Thanks so much for taping and posting!!!! |
