this show was my first really good foolish heart. it finally won me over. we were side stage and nicely dosed. the following estimated was great>leading into the first estimated>eyes since brent passed. They had come close on plenty of occasions before this(e.g.5-21-93) but they pulled it off very nicely, and just in time to have it together for new york 9-16 (these shows were obviously a warm up for out east). Anyway, it was a big deal at the time. the drums/space were very psychadelic at this show, and out of drums healy had weir echoed out and weird well past the first verse of miracle...and afterward what most people called the standing on the moon jam happened. At the time, i remember hearing the s.o.t.m. intro and was hoping for a comes a time, for some reason thinking they would play it if I hoped hard enough for it, and it seemed to be working! but it dissolved into a black peter instead and I was thinking that I jinxed it, and we didn't even get the sotm either. oh well, the black peter was well played as were most of jerry's ballads around this time. |
