Sorry for the delay, I have power connection problems and could not fir up my computer after the show last night. I Jerry-Rigged it to get this going. I saw quite a nice show myself outside of Boston. Had to work until 6:15, then hit the road hastily. I-95 traffic was NOT the usual nightmare, so I stopped at Panda along the way for some nourishment. Arrived at the venue, which is next door to Gillette Stadium. I walked with my gear as I exited the van, and there was Toast and Scarecrow. Toast had put me on the Guest List, thank you as always good friend!
I walked inside and said WOW. The room is gorgeous. I saw the stacks hung from the stage and I knew right then and there, I had plenty of sound to work with! I actually set up at a table just behind the soundboard. The soundboard was only 25' from stage, just as Scarecrow informed me outside. You could tell he enjoyed running the sound on such an awesome system.
This was the first show of the tour, and I must say, you would never know it. They sounded very tight. An interesting setlist with a mix of newer material and some old favorites. For me, the first set highlight was the 13 minute Garden of Eden. A couple of classics from the 1st album I Don't know you and Whatcha Gonna Do as well.
After a nice "safety" break, it was back to work. About 4-5 newer tunes and some more sweet old tunes such as Rainbow, Lochinvar, and Lonesome LA Cowboy. There were 2 guys behind us at the bar that yelled out for Glendale Train and Panama Red between every song. Dave Nelson may have caved in as they played Panama Red for the encore.
Nice hangin' with Taper Chris and his wife, Tom, Photographer Rich, Toast, Scarecrow and Delancey, and after the show with the General Manager Mark!
Dinner tonight was Sweet Fire Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Vegetable Lo Mein from Panda.
Where was Lynchie, Kenny, and Phreshie???
