Tagging notes:
Show information is embedded within the header of each flac file.
It will display on any player capable of directly playing flac
files. If converted to wav during processing, all tags will be
stripped, however audio data will remain unaffected. If you must
transcode to a lossy format, do so directly Flac > Lossy.
Use st5 to validate audio integrity.
Md5 values will change if tagging is altered.

This isn't the Bob Weir Band (Bob Weir, Bobby Cochran, Brent Mydland, Rich Carlos, John Mauer). That was a totally different lineup used for the February-March 1978 "Heaven Help the Fool" tour.
I strongly doubt that Brent or Cochran or Carlos was present at the Rambler Room show.

The text listing is incorrect. This was a little published benefit for a children's hospital. The billing listed The Bob Weir Band, but it is actually the Dead minus Keith & Donna.

Any sign of the 11/17/78 Uptown show? I've only seen the 2nd set circulate.

Thanks! I have a copy of this show but it's not a SBD as it claimed. Muddy sound and low vocals. I am looking forward to this version. Thanks for all the work and thanks to the seeders. Peace.

This set was put out on a Grateful Dead Hour broadcast back in the '90s, I made a tape of it. I think Gans introduced the lineup as Bob/Jerry/Phil/Bill/Mickey (or "the Dead minus Keith & Donna", as germain says), but that's just going from my memory of something 15 years ago.
Anyway, thanks for this. |

Sad but true, the only thing thing that seems to circulate from the later Uptown show is a very marginal audience of the 2nd set.

While on tour in Chicago, Bobby agreed to play a benefit at Loyola University for "Hunger Week" and brought Jerry, Phil and Mickey went along for the ride. In a nutshell, it's the Grateful Dead playing an Friday afternoon acoustic set in a college cafeteria. The only thing missing is Pig Pen and a harmonica. Here's the pics to prove that it happened: http://s274.photobucket.com/albums/jj266/icepetal/Dead/Dead%201978-11-17/
