If you guys haven't seen him don't complain - he was great before American Idol and they didn't ruin him. Try it - you'll like it. Thanks zman.

just my 2 cents- anyone who has ever had anything to do with american idol is utter crap- that is what has ruined the music industry today- i dont care how talented they may be

Zman wouldn't post it if it wasn't worth listening to. That's my 2 cents.

For the most part the music industry was crap a long time before american idol came to be.
Judge the music on its face value without passing judgement on someone who was trying to make it big even if you would consider that to be a sellout move.

As someone who has known Taylor since he was playing for change here in Auburn, he hasn't changed a bit. He entered the AI competition on a dare from his Mom, and ended up winning. He was more shocked than anyone else.
He's the same guy now as he was then, except now he's laughing all the way to the bank. |

Cool... Lonely Avenue. :-)

Lonely Avenue teased and played for the most part inside of track 7. It's a song the Jerry Garcia Band used to play when I went to see them in Berkeley and Palo Alto. ;-)

My City Was Gone is a Pretenders cover.

"Minute By Minute" is teased in "The Maze"
"Valley Road" is by Bruce Hornsby. It's a song that Jerry plays on, I think. Did the Dead play it? I think so. I never saw any of those shows.
The sax playing throughout is very good. The blues solos in Battlefield are nice too.
The tape is what you would expect given the source. LOL
Thanks for posting it!

Anybody that opens a show with Compared to What doesn't suck. You either have soul or you don't. Who cares about his past in American Idol. It just proved he was really good as a singer. It is not as if he produces the show.
