My last word:
We can respectfully agree to disagree on this subject.
I have been in hot water for years because of this, and nothing is gonna change. So the same old stuff can be retorrented forever. Myself I will continue to transfer more than worthy stuff and keep if well below the radar. For people who want the best source, not every one. |

My last word:
I ingested a "heroic" dose of psilocybin mushrooms not too long ago while hanging out on the Internet Archive, and the hyperdimensional aliens I encountered in some alternate spatial reality - or so it seemed - informed me that all was running well with the archiving systems for the Grateful Dead, and that we should continue in our thorough and exacting stewardship of the music, which is unlike any other. So, I'm kind of running on that personal experience as well... |

Well I am glad to see you guys have made up. It's just about music peace and love still. No sarcasm...I mean it. Badbob I very much agree with you about too many sources. At the end of the day we all want the best source right (I had many many tapes back in the day too, and get what ya mean) Now sometimes it's too close to call, maybe better bottom end here, little better stereo definition on that one etc. If that's the case, sure put it out there and let the group decide or just have another source. But sometimes it is clearly a inferior source...what's the point? 4-28-85 a new source came out in the last year and it was a dog of one of the "best" shows (just a great cali 85' show) Anyway I would like some commentary about a show when it's upped. yes I can download it an listen to it, but I got a job man. Not sure i'm on board with only one matrix b/c that's a very different discipline....lots of possibilities and potential. I do love a great matrix. Anyway all just my two cents. Thanks to bot of you for sharing. I have many of both of your recordings in my collection, and when either name comes up I get pretty frigin excited for the listen b/c I know it's a gwonna be good.
peace be with you both |

Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate them NCesau.
I like your comment about having a lot of my recordings in your collection. There are many people out there who don't seem to appreciate how much of my stuff is out there. They are only mad because I won't release my recordings on THEIR terms. A couple of years ago I offered to flood a certain tracker with 15 never before heard JG shows. I asked that something be done about all the ocd versions. The response I got: You'd think I was trying to take over their tracker and destroy their lives. One idiot said they should never give in to "BLACKMAIL". That idiot has left a comment on this thread and of course he ripped me. Figures. But I'll be you remember collecting and trading tapes. The good old days. I am reliving them in a new and refined form in the digital world. Getting them into the hands of my friends, keeping them out of the hands like the idiot described above. |
