| Props to whomever rocked the KM54 Telefunken AC701 tubes at Jazz Fest. Have had this DAT for years but can't recall a transfer out there. |

...also, my guess is it was the 316 in there as opposed to the V2, but I posted it as it was labeled when I got it... many moons ago.
If anyone knows more about this one, please share. |

just this morning compared this to one of the FOB Schoeps pulls (apologies, i don't recall off the top of my head which source i have at home), and i prefer this new KM54.
the Schoeps seems to have a tinny, tunnel-y sound whereas this one seems more natural and warm, yet with really clear vocals.
bravo!

| the schoeps were further away and more directional, which would explain the sound differences |

I just added this to the etree database:
http://db.etree.org/shn/113765
thanks Taylor! I have a DAT copy of this as well, and it's been on my list to transfer, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. and now I can cross this one off my list. (and, fwiw, my DAT copy is also labeled with a V2, and not a Lunatec 316). |

"the schoeps were further away and more directional, which would explain the sound differences"
the shoeps was a FOB too...or are you saying that from memory of being there? i don't see any location info for any of the three sources other than FOB. |
