this show had soo many guests.
Terrence Higgins was playing a 2nd drumkit for most of the night.
The 2 unknown horn players on Elephants were Mark Mullins on trombone and Rashawn Ross on trumpet
I shot 43 minutes of footage from the balcony above the band, great footage of the last 3 or 4 songs of set 1 and most of Elephants. I'll get it on youtube eventually.
I also shot the 2 songs where Tony Hall sat in.. but I'm soo mad at myself because I deleted those 2 songs and lost them. (The next day as I was copying everything from my camera to a hard drive I must have missed the 2nd page of files containing the 2 Tony Hall songs. Then I cleared the camera and went out for the next night...) But those 2 tunes with Tony Hall was one of my favorite things I saw this year... Soo smooth to hear Tony play like that.. reminded me of some late '70's Chocolate Milk grooves..

| So psyched to see this up, I'm pretty sure this was my favorite set. Seen KDTU 5 times in the last year+ and they were tight as hell. Also loved the Willie Bobo and Los Lobos covers. Thanks so much for posting this! |

| i took what zoidis and kinninger had behind there names in the album credits, i have no idea which was which just assumed they would be playing the same instrument noted. which is the willie bobo cover? there were a bunch of songs i have never heard karl do before, which made it even better! |

| Fried Neckbones and home fries is willie bobo. Santana covered it later. Tony Hall on Can You Feel It was beautiful. Thanks again steve! |

As far the horn players on Elephants, these are the notes I put on my video:
Horns in order of solos: Chris Littlefield, Rashawn Ross, Sam Kinninger, Maurice Brown, Ryan Zoidis.
(also present but did not take a solo: Mark Mullins & Anthony Reed) Karl Denson did take a solo but I stopped recording before his because my hand hurt.
I don't think Brownie McGhee is a real person. |

so I was looking at my pictures and I have a picture of Nigel Hall sitting in on this show also, I totally forgot about that!
The picture is timestamped at 4:28 and my video of Elephants is timestamped at 4:44... so Nigel must have played on Solar Heat. |
