Thank you for this and all your pulls this summer; they sound great!
kevinkachel 2011-06-05 14:11:26
Between this, the MBHO, and the DPA, this one sounds the best (on my stereo system, at least). It's very spacious and fob-like. If I can get picky, I think there's a little too much Mike, but I'd rather have everything else that it does right and deal with the heavy-ish bass.

The MBHO is more distant and thin sounding. Not enough Mike. The Schoeps actually sounds more like an FOB to me. The DPA sounds too "wooly" or muffled. I'm not criticizing either of these two sources at all and could gladly live with either if the Schoeps wasn't around! For the record, they are all good enough to keep, which is exactly what I'm going to do.

My opinion of which source sounds the best would probably change if I were to listen on headphones, in a car, or on a boom box, but on my home stereo, the Schoeps is it. There is one caveat- I listened through my laptops headphone jack connected to my preamp. Not ideal, but its the only way for me to do a quick test.

Thanks to all the tapers this tour.

@Kevin: Which pull does the best job of muffling those hideous Streets of Cairo teases that Trey seems to have fallen in love with?

Kidding! Well, not really. Thanks for the upload!
Cranesq 2011-06-05 16:28:55
Thanks as always for a great recording. The show was as hot as the weather.
kevinkachel 2011-06-05 16:29:34
alumni,

Either the FF or mute button should do what you require. I often utilize the FF button during Donna's howling in Playing in the Band and various other songs and it works perfectly. I have tested it many times. No source upgrade necessary!

I like Steam!
