Taper notes: it was HOT HOT HOT on this day -- checking weather.com it claims the temperatures got up to 101 degrees in Bridgeport, CT. Not a cloud was to be found in the sky. I spent the majority of this set far away from the stage sitting under some trees to keep cool. But my mics were firmly planted in their locations so they managed to capture the whole thing. This could easily have been the hottest (temperature-wise) concert I've even been to!
Feel free to nix (or not even download) tracks 1 & 2 if you are burning to CD or aren't interested in the ramblings of Mr. Wavy Gravy. His story about meeting Albert Einstein is quite interesting, in my opinion.

Yep, Z-Man, this was definitely a fun start to a fun weekend!
LOTS more sets from this weekend are currently in progress. Look for more links soon!
I'll also have some photos to post eventually, though my camera crapped out about 1/2 way thru the weekend. :-( |

| Can't wait to hear the rest of your pulls. I got there just as Taj Mahal was going on. Hot is not even the right word for the temperature that day. Thanks for the recording. It sounds great. Peace. |

Wow Scott. HYPERS split 40'??? WTF?
Never have I heard of anyone trying split hypers with a significant distance. Did you throw down some panning in post?
Happy birthday brother!!! My son Zach that you met at MMW Tarrytown was asking about you and your FAT mics! HA HA!

<<not to grovel, but will you be seeding the Toots set from sunday?>>
I'm sure he will, but he is trying to do these sets mostly in order, I think. Just give him some time--Scott is a completist & I'm sure
that he rolled the whole weekend.
Fantastic pulls, Scott!!
Cheers!!

I appreciate your confidence in me, Bill, but actually and unfortunately it was not possible for me to get the Toots set from Sunday. While I was showered, ready, and rarin' to get to the venue for Toots, the folks I was staying with (who had the car) were not. So while I heard the end of Toots' set on Vibes Radio in the car while we were driving to the venue, I did not get to see any of it, nor record -- no matter how much I wanted to. :-(
On Sunday I only got to record Rhythm Devils and Dr. John..... |
