OK, so this is an odd torrent. I dug up this copy of 11/11/95 taped by Doug Oade. I couldn't find it on the bt.etree server so I thought I'd post it. The issue is that I only have set one, and I had to fix up the files a little bit (see text file).
I got this back when most people were mailing .shn discs in the snail mail. Post Maxell XLII, pre torrenting (for me at least).
Anyway, I love this first set, especially the Mikes > Day in the Life > Poor Heart > Weekapaug transitions. This source is amazing and will complement Chris' AKG 393 as well.
Have a good Sunday, hopefully the east coast hurricane isn't too damaging. |

Thanks yas.
One of my favorite sets from back in the day. Second set is not my favorite music, but this entire first set is really something. For me, this is the defining set of that FOX run.
Mike's holds tight in the groove. Day in the Life and Poor Heart are their typical, spirited selves. Weekapaug is perfect from start to fin, with a great funk breakdown in the middle. They don't veer from the groove, nor lose their footing at any point.
The other great highlight, I think, is a spectacular Stash. Truly psychedelic and solid. Maybe not as explosive as some, but the band is ridiculously united through the twists and turns of this jam. Really a statement of perfection here. The quality of this Stash probably lead the band to consider working it into a second set, which came just 3 days later in Florida.
This recording sounds great to my ears. It's hard to gauge which recording of this show I'd best recommend. This is certainly one of the best I've heard, but I imagine it was hard to walk out of there with a bad one.
Hell, this first set is one worth collecting multiple copies of. I love this set! |

My other copy is the (ORTF/110^) B&K 4011s .
This one seems to have a better Trey presence, a little less highs, more balance in the mids, and sounds awesome through head phones.
Raging Mike's! |
