This is a clean recording, but the mix leaves much to be desired.

| this show is appears to be the same show that circulates as "possibly" the matrix- 8-29-68; if you cross reference the songs you will note that they are the same exact song sequence and song times as this show. either way, this is a great show wherever its from! |

I can't find any references to a 8-29-68 show.
The discussions I have read about this place it in April or May of 1968. The arguments being that it falls after March because Born Cross-Eyed has been dropped and before June due to the undeveloped and out of place St. Stephen. |

| Ok, I figured out what Kaylee was referencing when questioning if this were 8/29/68. The exact same material has circulated as filler on shnid=52 (8/23/68). On that source it is referenced as possibly being 8/29/68. Additional research on my part continues to point to late May or early June 1968 at possibly the Carousel Ballroom. as the correct date. |

| On this recording, the organ is often prominent in the mix. On 3/11 in Sacramento Tom Constanten had a day off from the Air Force and sat in. However, the organ sounds to me like Steve Winwood. We know Traffic was in town during the KMPX strike and Garcia and Hart at least were on Green St on 3/18/68 as Traffic played in support of the strike. There is even a picture of Garcia sitting in during "Dear Mr Fantasy". Any chance Winwood would have sat in for this undated set? |
