Here is last night's Truth & Salvage Co. set from outside of Boston. I just saw my friends T & S about 3 weeks ago in Beantown when they opened for Jackie Greene, so I was pumped they were returning! Unfortunately I had to work all weekend. I finished my 2nd consecutive 14 hour shift, grabbed my gear, and headed down to Commonwealth Ave.
I arrived inside to see they had put me a small table and a barstool, in a taped off area directly in front of the Soundboard! These guys are true friends! Ran into Kelly F who has been on the road 6 weeks with the boys! We talked and watched college football as I set up. Went next door and grabbed 2 large slices of Pizza during Mike Musikanto's set. Yummy!
An opening set by locals Coyote Kolb, then a set from Mike Musikanto before the boys hit the stage to open with Jump. They sounded very tight, testament to lots of hard work and heavy touring! Lots of choice cuts in the hour and 45 minute set. It was Neil Young's birthday, so they treated us to their 2nd ever Cortez The Killer! My request was obliged, as Walker lead us through a very pretty Pure mountain Angel. No encore, but a very solid 100 minutes! Great to see the boyz! Nice to hang with Billy from the Paradise. Great job from DJ Murray on the sound!
