| The music from this band was REALLY psychedelic and trippy! The guitarist was pretty amazing |

Thanks, Scott! It's awesome to have each band from the entire evening! Any idea who the players were in Cyro's band? Does anybody know if Cyro worked with Paul Simon on his Caveman musical? Just curious if the name has any tie to that ... I know Cyro has worked with Paul Simon on a number of occasions.
Anyway, thanks for this! |

Duggy -- it seems to me that Caveman is a band on their own and just had Cyro guesting. There doesn't seem to be any connection between Caveman and Paul Simon's Capeman musical.
Apparently this band has been getting a lot of positive press.
Here's their website: http://cavemantheband.com/
And here's an article about them:

Yes, Caveman is a band of jazz/indie rock players from Philadelphia who opened this tour for us in Philly & NYC.
Cyro was just a guest of theirs in NYC...no relation at all to Paul Simon nor his musical.
That website link is down & ineffective. Here are two places to check them out:
http://www.reverbnation.com/cavemandeathwaltzmediagroup
http://www.myspace.com/cavemanlove
There seem to be a bunch of groups called Caveman, including one here in NYC, but these 2 above links will route
you to the band represented here in this torrent.
Nice work, Scotty!! |

thanks so much scott! we shook hands and fistbumped at the show and i could tell you were a stand up guy. downloading now and will seed for a good while.
by the way, to clear up all the confusion, caveman is an entity of its own. the band has been around since about '02-'03 with some sporadic drops in touring frequency. they were signed to homegrown music for a while (http://www.homegrownmusic.net/) where you can find their 2 studio albums. they used to have an official web site, but that's gone now for some reason. they still have a myspace though (http://www.myspace.com/cavemanlove) and the guitarist has a web page (http://www.chineseirishman.com/) as well.
i've been seeing this group whenever i can since about '04-'05 and they're consistently mind blowing. they have a sound that i've never heard in any other band that's known in the jam or improvisational music scene. you can find recordings of their shows on the archive by the way (http://www.archive.org/details/Caveman), just be aware that the recordings on there from after 2005-2006 are mostly from other, less talented groups, also named caveman.
thanks again :] and sorry for the longwindedness, i just think these talented musicians are way too overlooked. |

Thanks for all the info guys!
HA! Capeman! That's the Paul Simon musical -- thanks, Scott! So yeah, clearly there's no connection ...
And I'd no idea Caveman was its own group. I thought this was Cyro's latest ensemble or something ... I haven't listened to this set just yet, but you have all peeked my interest! |

@ Scott, those two links are of a different Caveman and are NOT the cool band you present here in this recording.
@AhuraMazda - your links are of the correct Caveman and represent the correct band featured in this recording. |

@flicflac: thanks.
@scott: you should absolutely upload your recording to the live music archive at archive.org. that would make sure they have a permanent residence and can be enjoyed by tons more people! |
