Once again.....thanks Charlie! This was a wonderful weekend at the beach. Loads of fun (and loads of...other things) and nice, cold beers in the lot. Three great (for '87) shows, with just about all the stop pulled out. The Friday (6/12) featured Jack Straw, Esau and a fine Bird Song in the first set, a very peppy and inspired China>Rider and decent length (five songs before drums/five after space, not including the Touch encore).
This Saturday show was what most folks considered the jewel of the weekend, for obvious reasons, just check the list. Everything was played with vim and vigor with the Half Step, FOTD, Cassidy and Let it Grow all well done in set I. Shakedown, probably the best Ship of Fools ever (really), the Estimated and the Dew all extry-high highlights before a rollicking Sugar Mag.
The Sunday show was also fun with a cool Althea, Stranger and Mighty Swell to close out the first. Scarlet > Fire was pretty damn good, not hugely long but good. And then a Playin'>Terrapin (a combo I saw a ton of times) was also inspired. The Truckin'>Wharf>Stones>NFA was not a big surprise, but still a fun way to end the weekend.

Sorry to go off topic...but can someone tell me what the hell is up with db.etree? It spuratically cant be found on the server. ILL add like 7 shows and then it just flops. Anyone? |
