Featroller comment: lots of old-school Feat here – I bet not many setlists include both Cat Fever and Truck
Stop Girl. Also a rarity these days: the not so old (2003) Why Don't It Look Like The Way That It Talk. Fred
breaks out his mandocello for this slow, swampy number so beloved by a howling featfan contingent from Philly.
But the kicker is the acoustic Candyman. Expanded in its standalone version and reportedly recorded for the
upcoming studio release Rooster Rag, Paul finally explains what we all knew or suspected: Candyman Blues is
his favorite Mississippi John Hurt song "because it's the filthiest song ever written." And this from the
man who brought us Skin It Back! Here he lays down the only acoustic version I can recall, complete with
appropriately filthy slide. Other highlights include a smoking Tripe Face and a funky Hi Roller encore. Nice
sound from Chris as usual.
Thanks to Chris and to Featseeker for the original upload at dimeadozen.org. |
