If you guys are gonna spend the time and do this, maybe think about re-doing text files to proper naming standards set by phish.net...
just a thought, since that's a big problem in the phish music archive community |
| geewiz010 |
2012-05-16 14:30:03 |
| I'm more worried about the naming standards when it comes to the actual flacs - like ph07-01-00 to ph2000-07-01. At least there is a recognized standard there. I don't mind uniqueness of text files from one to the next - as long as it's accurate I don't care about formats. |

What does this mean??? What's wrong with his Text File???
Also, there's a PH Music Archive Community???

| Well in his defense there are a few ugly text files from ages ago. I'm certainly not interested in either campaigning for one exact format or fixing old ones though, that's for sure. Like I said I'll alter the name of the file that carries the music so that they sit pretty in iTunes or whatever - the file that carries the info, though, is up to the original uploader and personally I wouldn't want somone else to come along and alter the way I've presented said info. |

itunes loooooooooooool who the f cares what itunes does...
this is flac apple doesnt even like flac it likes it's gayed up ALAC
but again 10 of 1
12 and a half of another
if your going to redo /rename the music files then you have to update the txt files as well to refrence said materials.

| I don't use iTunes, I just threw it out there. And I mention in my little space that I've changed the names to meet etree standards. |

I like the uniqueness of the text files, but what I really like is the flac tagging, especially under the album putting the date like 2000-06-29 and either the source or the place.
That way I can organize my gayed up itunes by album and get the dates of the shows in proper order.
;) |

| Yeah for the "album" heading I put date-venue-town - I put a quick source note in the "comments" box, giving credit where appropriate and if available. I like MediaMonkey's interface, very easy to sort, tag, play, etc. Tagging flacs is definitely worth a few extra minutes. |
