Traders Little Helper used for creating checksums:
- FLAC ST5 & MD5 generated for original FLACs
- FLAC ID3 tagged files matched to original FLAC ST5
- FLAC MD5 generated for ID3 tagged files (t-flac.md5)

MP3Tag (current version) used for all ID3 tagging:
- The metadata ID3 tags can be read by any player that plays FLAC files.
- ID3 tags will be stripped if converted to WAV, however audio data will be unaffected

Use FLAC ST5 to validate audio integrity.
(Alternatively, the FLAC FFP contains the same checksum values.)
t-FLAC MD5 values will change if ID3 tags are altered.
Original FLAC MD5 & ST5 included for reference
T-FLAC16TAG.HTML uses FOLDER.JPG to display album art
T-FLAC16TAG.TXT provides a track-by-track breakdown of the fileset's ID3 tags

-- THE SHACK PROJECT --
This is an effort to seed all existing MMW shows, and yes, preserving the audio of the original SHN/FLAC filesets -- but now with a twist. We are now seeding ID3 FLAC encoded filesets of db.etree sources which still maintains the audio integrity. The seeding will proceed chronologically for the most part, with exceptions as we feel the vibe to seed other gigs from other times.

Thanks to MMW for allowing their music to be recorded....really, thank you.

Huge thanks goes out to the tapers, without whom this wouldn't be possible...and those that have helped get the tunes to our ears.

And thanks to the other 5 guys I've dragged into this and who seem committed to the cause: Louie, Mike Tom, Todd & Jeff....we're all listening to these shows and hopefully circulating the best versions.

All shows listed here in SHN/FLAC will be seeded:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmw

These shows will be seeded as well, either by me or by one of a few other kind souls:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmwaccess

Shows listed here circulate in some manner. We are looking for as close to the original source as we can get so if you can help out with any of the following, we'd all appreciate it:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmwneeds (this list is in the process of being compiled...maybe forever?)

enjoy the grooves

MMW Performance History @ http://mmwhistory.com - this is a fantastic resource that allows you to look at info on gigs by MMW and related side projects and guest appearances; big thanks to Tom for creating this page.

We are actively updating all setlists as we seed, and also others outside the particular order of the project.

db.etree is also being updated in tandem with the updates to Tom's pages -- both the source and show pages.

This fileset is an ID3 tagged version of http://db.etree.org/shn/34168 -- NOTE: These are 48k files and CANNOT be burned to audio discs.

First 2 set electric gig in a couple months and you call tell the band is enjoying themselves. MMW-only renditions of ICTWCIM & Miles Behind -- both 1st known performances of the tunes. The opening song moves playfully through an improvisation into Shacklyn Knights and we're off and running. Cool that Medeski sticks to the piano for the middle of the set. The latter part of the set has a great trio T&C that expands into some Improv before ending up in Coconut Boogaloo > Where's the Music to finish ... that makes for a pumped ending to the set ...

The 2nd set starts strong with Egbe Mi O errupting into a Drum Solo that bashes into the debut of Miles Behind. After returning to the live rotation in the fall of '05, Nocturne was played at the early '06 electric gigs so it was nice to see the band still throwing it into the show -- it's played with semi-regularity at MMW gigs from it's revival in fall '05 through to early '07; really the tune was never played much until this time period with sporadic performances in '98 and a single performance in '99 before dropping out of live rotation until Oct '05 (based on my setlist findings anyway) ... all that to, again, say cool it was getting played becaused it's an hauntingly cool tune! And fun to have a Bass Solo > Bemsha/Swing encore to end the evening ...

As far as sources, both are great and welcome listens ... just remember the Octava source can't be burned to CD without resampling.
