This was the first time willSFC taped on the Sonic Stage at Bonnaroo. I basically guarded the stand and took photos. This was billed as the NMAS duo, but Pierre Wells and the three background singers were also there. It was one of those short, powerful shows that left you wanting more. Luther gave a nice shout out to bassist Chris Chew, who was in the hospital in Portland, Ore., and got the crowd to chant "Chew!" The recording came out very nice.

did you have the microphone attached to your hat? if so, i gave you the keeping quiet thumbs up as i walked by.
no matter what, many thanks for this and any other Bonnaroo recordings.
(sadly i rarely saw mic stands up at other shows. hope it was a matter of just not being observant and more shows will show up.) |

No, we had a stand about 30 feet from the stage FOB on the left side at the center aisle rail. As the notes say, the mics were 7 feet in the air. Must have been someone else. ;-)
Actually, there were quite a few recordings made by a small number of tapers, at least that we knew about. Will and I made 19 ourselves and I imagine all but two will be shared.

@RD Chew left Hill Country Revue a few years back due to the fact the gigs didnt pay much so he took a job driving the tour bus for Tim Mcgraw
The agreement with Luther and Cody is that Chris would play when he could...they are childhood friends and im sure they will play again..Chris did play a few songs and Memphis in May with them this year |
