IDv3 Tagged using AudioShell v1.3.5

| Have not seen or heard anything about the Winwood set on Sunday. Did Warren come out for any tunes? Was there any tapers for his set? |

My review:
This was a great set of music from Anders! I suspected that we were mostly going to get a set featuring music from his recently-released CD "Black Eye Galaxy" (not that that would be a bad thing)...and it certainly started out that way, with him breaking right into "Send Me A Friend" from the album....but quickly enough he changed gears, pulling out great (and slightly rearranged) old favorites "Ya Ya" and "Burning On The Inside". Then he took a breather to announce that being we were so close to Levon Helm's home, he had to pay tribute to him -- and invited up the incredible Roosevelt Collier, the pedal-steel player from The Lee Boys to sit in on lap-steel guitar for it. Anders was reading the lyrics from a piece of paper, but they collaborated on a great version of Bob Dylan's "When I Paint My Masterpiece" (The Band's version is far more well-known than Dylan's, so it's more commonly associated with The Band). The collaboration worked out so well, Anders kept Roosevelt onstage for another older Anders tune -- "Love Has Taken Its Toll", and another Dylan cover "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" (whichI've never seen Anders do before). Running out of time, Anders closed things up with a shorter version one of his oldest tunes that he still performs, "Pleasin' You" which never disappoints.
Yes I would have loved to hear ANOTHER hour of Anders, but alas that's all he was scheduled for. One thing worth noting is that Anders seems to have changed his guitar set up significantly -- part of his trademark sound was a pair of Fender twin-reverb amps, but this time around he still had 2 amps, but they were not Fenders....you'll note his guitar sounds different at this show. |

yes, Warren did sit-in during Winwood's excellent set for a killer "Dear Mr. Fantasy"
I'll get to it soon enough. Unfortunately for the Winwood fans, I'm going in (mostly) chronological order, and since he was the festival closer on Sunday night it'll be a few more days before I get to it.
Look for the Friday night Mule set, The Word, and The Givers sets likely late tonight. :)

| Thanks, looks like it was a great weekend of music. Unfortunately being a west coaster the cost of flights kept me from attending this year. I really missed the mountain this year. Glad there are folks out there like you spreading the music. |
