| I've actually been reading Dr. John's autobiography. Apparently he was in a tussle and trying to fight a gun from someone and he got shot in the hand. It didn't seem that he quite playing guitar due to that. It seemed like he recovered and just continued doing writing and studio sessions, still mainly guitar, but always some piano too. Then as they were doing the Dr John first album demo sessions, the guy he had picked for the persona couldn't be found, so he decided to do it. The rest is history. |
