| Schoeps and Neumann have distinct and recognizable house sounds. Try both and tell us. |

| I saw this source and my ears perked up. I taped spac in '04 with akg 480's. I'd love to hear the combo of the two because the way they combine warmth, smooth low end and consistent mid/hi's. Thanks Ed. - mterry@taperssection |

Completely agree with Noah.
Saying one is better is often like looking at a menu and saying one entree is better than the other. When comparing two rigs like this in the same spot they'll both be great, so t's really just a matter of taste. Sure there may be some physical attributes that make sources different, but these rigs were next to each other dfc. Garry does a great job of delivering the sound to us that it's pretty hard to mess up. We just soak in the sound. The end result is these postings you see. My advice is to download a few different sources and get to know each source, and keep the one you prefer the most, that meets your personal taste. I suspect they're all good though. :). If you take someone elses advice youre at the mercy of their sound preference. |

| Another factor in sound quality is the system and room you're playing back in. Those two things are huge with these recordings. |

I agree with Noah too. It all depends on what you perfer. aLL of ed's recording have been sweet thru the years. Llove the way he captures the sound with his Neumann's but with the ak40 added in it just sounds Sweet taboot!!!!. YMMV but the way garry brown has been making PHiSH sound, its really all up to what source for the show you perfer . Download them all and just play the sets on your system and listen for the subtle differences. What I usually do is burn a copy of each source I download listene to it , on my systems. See what I like the best and GIVE AWAY the other copies. you really dont know how it feels to make someones day with your extra copies you are never gonna use anyways.
just my .02
peace
James
- THANKS to all who have spread the PHiSH around this tour. You guys are truelly SPECIAL!!!!!!! |

| I'm hearing some weird volume fluctuations like there is a limiter on or something. What causes that? I did not hear it at the show or on Noah's recording. |

I'm very interested to hear that FOB too, I watched the guy walk right through the security guards with a mic stand and a backpack--thought that was awesome. Spied the rig during the first set and got pretty excited...
Still waiting... |
