PATCH NOTES:
Unforunately, toards the end of "Runaway Jim", the battery on the Sonosax started to die.
the result of this is that the music slowly became more and more distorted, so it wasn't easily noticeable at the time.
The Sonosax battery was changed in between "Free" & "Meatstick"

I uses the following source as a patch:
FOB Neumann U89i (Omni, Split 6') > Apogee AD1000

The patch starts in "Jim" at [17:55]
All of "Free" is from the u89 source
Dave's source starts back up again in Meatstick at [00:11]

I just dug this up (from 6 years ago), and realized that it wasn't in the database, and therefore, I must not have ever seeded it. so here you go. it sounds great. enjoy.
deadatty 2012-10-21 08:50:57
Thanks for the new source. What's the story behind the long 3 set show on this night?
jasonsobel 2012-10-21 08:53:15
it was the 2nd day of a festival.
deadatty 2012-10-21 09:14:24
Thanks Jason, and a bigger thanks to you for getting all these Phish shows on here.

metawhy 2012-10-21 12:27:26
thanks Jason!

How did you know where to start the patch? I've never heard what a dying preamp sounds like.

>>> How did you know where to start the patch? I've never heard what a dying preamp sounds like.

Well, in the case of a dying Sonosax, as the battery dies, it overloads/distorts more and more easily. So at first, just the loud peaks are distorted, and as time went on, more and more of the music sounded distorted. I tried to start the patch before the distortion got too bad, but there might be some minor audible distortion in the time shortly before the patch.

I was just reading about Oswego in the book I'm reading No Ordinary Time. It was place where they took Jewish refugees during the War. One of the few but still..

Spectacular show. I love this Gin, among other highlights.
LAStubbe 2012-10-22 09:11:07
The insanity in the third set is just legendary. Love it. Reminds me what a mistake it was for me to pass on this festy.
master.madison 2012-12-06 20:02:58
After pulling down every possible source available for the 2nd night at Oswego, this one is the best by far. 'Tis a shame about the dying battery as Runaway Jim was winding down and slowly morphing into Free. The patch work is pretty good for sure...

However, I think the source that was posted on Nov. 15 is a better match sound wise in my opinion. Any chance of redoing the patch using this source instead?
