I do have some more MagnoliaFest recordings to do for Chris.
If you already downloaded the other Herring source, IMO, this one is a bit better. 16 bit coming soon... |

there's been a shift in those fests up there at the the suwannee spring and magfests. New promoters. No longer the good ol bands that used to be there (TRU, Rowan and Rice, Ralph Stanley, Jerry Douglas, etc...). Springfest used to be bluegrass oriented w/ folk.
Tix are expensive (try bringing a family of 4 @ $750)...i'd rather go on a real vacation than spend a grand to go to a fest that has a thin line-up. Oh and to boot they no longer allow the sbd patches. I was told recently by someone who was told that they could not afford a new patch bay...i thought that it was free to plug out and daisy chain, ya know old school style.
I have not been since the bear creek folks took over.
this used to be the premier venue for bluegrass in the south...grand ol opry broadcasted from there. Temendous bluegrass history there.
now it is just festyland. (and a cash cow). |

With Bear Creek so close to Magfest it is tough uploading recordings and being ready for the next fest.
Since when is there a time limit on getting stuff out? I cant speak for other tapers but this is a hobby for me not a job =) |
