what a solid show!! sound was A+ - Loud and crystal clear!!! Didn't even need the ear plugs.
Pretty much no segue jamming - but well-played!
Loved the 2nd set - killah! danced my ass off - the band brought it!
wish we were going the other nights!

Sorry about the delay Matt. I was bushed. Today is actually my first day off in several weeks. I did a run of 5 shows last week and worked everyday. I drove down yesterday afternoon, ate a bowl of killer home made Beef Vegetable soup at John and Aida's before the show, and went to the show. After, a bite to eat on way home. Got it transferred but was falling asleep sitting at keyboard.
I arrived in Port Chester, about a 25 minute ride form John's house in Norwalk. I entered at 7:10 and had a balcony ticket. I saw the guys setting up behind the sound board. The ushers would not let me enter the floor. After speaking with 2 managers, they were kynd enough to give me a floor wristband. thank You Capitol Theatre Management! I set up next to Jon and was ready to roll. Phil and Company took the stage at about 8:19. Phil looked around at the theatre and gave it his approval. They really did a great job. The staff was very friendly as well. I did see 2 people tossed during the night, but I am sure they did something totally stupid!
A slow version of Jack Straw kicked of the set. Mississippi 1/2 Step sung by Phil, was next and also seemed slow to me. By then, Jackie had played a few leads. I said to Taper Rob, let John sing the Jerry songs and play some leads! Well, that happened for the Crazy Fingers. An interesting placement of He's Gone in the first set, rolled into Cold Rain and Snow. A "fast" version of Ship Of Fools was next, sung by Jackie. The set closed with a nice version of Mason's Children. Crazy Fingers and Mason's Children were my 2 favorites of the 1st set.
After a long set break, we saw a Fantasy opener. This set was packed with some heavy ammo! Help>Slip>Viola was nice. During the Viola, I heard what could have been Not Fade Away or Bertha. Alligator>Eleven was a nice pairig. The slow Jerry ballad of the night was a well received Standin' On The Moon, which segued into a lively Uncle John's before completing the big sandwich back into Slipknot>Franklin's Tower. Box of Rain sent us out after midnight. A nice start to the 4 night run!
Late night eats was a Chicken Parmesan Sandwich from the Diner in Norwalk. I wanted to hit Pat's Hubba Hubba, but will do that with John after the show tonight!
