this was one of the last runs of shows i ever attended. vince welnick was bench warming at best. looking back, i find it hard to believe there was no one else available.

Probably not the ideal place to put this but...must read this:

http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2012/11/26/121126fa_fact_paumgarten?currentPage=all

p.s. may have to cut/paste into browser.
jerome70 2012-11-21 14:54:29
the newyorker article is a gem of an "in a nutshell" & yet informative, interesting, funny, amusing & generally,"right on" piece! thanx!
jerome70 2012-11-21 17:49:48
thanks dewey72-i liked that the story ends w/talking with/about Betty-really cool...also as the newyorker article refers to the nov.30th 80' w/such reverence,as of note:
it is here on bt.etree (the aud. recording he talks about in 24bit+ a matrix w/another aud)...

Awesome. Glad you dug it. A great read for Dead tape hounds. Very well written, eloquent even. Eaton's comments at the end struck me as very selfindulgent and somewhat deluded. Enormous thanks to him, though, for keeping the music alive, sharing tapes and playing tunes, along with countless others.

Best TLEO I've seen in person. Absolutely beautiful.
