--- NOTES ---
Most of show with DJ Logic on Turntables (except Latin Shuffle and Tubby)
* With acoustic/melodica ending and drum outro
+ combining these two tracks creates a performance of the tune Combustication (unlisted bonus track on the album of the same name); the band leads into the start of Combustication after Sugar Craft (t05), but the tune's head is never quite reached until it later emerges from Spy Kiss (t18)
^ w/ a noise/space jam under the intros that dies off and then resurfaces to build into Start/Stop
% Bubblehouse begins with brief improv/space intro. Wig Wise (D. Ellington) begins properly @7:55, with the band having begun playing on the tune's theme @6:07
** Fits on Two Discs **
I like to move back and forth, so that could be some kind of insect effect...
Traders Little Helper used for creating checksums:
- FLAC ST5 & MD5 generated for ID3 tagged FLACs
MP3Tag (current version) used for all ID3 tagging:
- The metadata ID3 tags can be read by any player that plays FLAC files.
- ID3 tags will be stripped if converted to WAV, however audio data will be unaffected
Use FLAC ST5 to validate audio integrity.
(Alternatively, the FLAC FFP contains the same checksum values.)
t-FLAC MD5 values will change if ID3 tags are altered.
T-FLAC16TAG.HTML uses FOLDER.JPG to display album art
T-FLAC16TAG.TXT provides a track-by-track breakdown of the fileset's ID3 tags

|-- THE SHACK PROJECT --
This is an effort to seed all existing MMW shows, and yes, preserving the audio of the original SHN/FLAC filesets -- but now with a twist. We are now seeding ID3 FLAC encoded filesets of db.etree sources which still maintains the audio integrity. The seeding will proceed chronologically for the most part, with exceptions as we feel the vibe to seed other gigs from other times.
Thanks to MMW for allowing their music to be recorded....really, thank you.
Huge thanks goes out to the TAPERS, without whom this wouldn't be possible...and those others who have helped get the tunes to our ears.
These shows are all being listened to, setlists updated, flaws noted and/or corrected, and hopefully we're circulating the best seeds we can.
All shows listed here in SHN/FLAC will be seeded:
These shows will be seeded as well, either by me or by one of a few other kind souls:
Shows listed here circulate in some manner. We are looking for as close to the original source as we can get so if you can help out with any of the following, we'd all appreciate it:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmwneeds (this list is in the process of being compiled and is grossly out of date ... maybe forever? Worth a look though!)
enjoy the grooves
***FOR ALL YOUR SETLIST NEEDS***
MMW Performance History @ http://mmwhistory.com - this is a fantastic resource that allows you to look at info on gigs by MMW and related side projects and guest appearances; big thanks to Tom for creating this page.
We are actively updating all setlists as we seed, and also others outside the particular order of the project.
db.etree is also being updated in tandem with the updates to Tom's pages -- both the source and show pages.

|If you download one of these Oct '98 gigs than you may as well DOWNLOAD 'EM ALL!!! This is a HOT, HOT, HOT run of shows ... not sure I could pick a favourite ... similar setlists throughout, matching the band's evolution through the Shackman > Combustication tunes ... Logic adds lots of flavour to the 2nd sets ... for those who like a DJ mixing things in ...
|THANKS to InsectEffect for this nicely RETRACKED version of this stellar stage lip recording ... grab it folks!
|Also note the wacky treatment Combustication gets -- the band splits it up over the course of the night in a very odd way ... it's a pretty wacky tune anyway, but this night found the new tune to be extra wacky ...
Happy New year all! This is one of my very favorite shows from '98 -- it has such great improvisational flow, with the band effortlessly buzzing through a whole succession of tunes sandwiched by Combustication -- the unique encore is hot for sure!
DJ Logic isn't too high in the mix, which is nice, and the Sound quality of this recording is also really good. Happy to do the retrack!
|thank you. sounds great. thanks for the tip, insecteffect.
|Thanks a ton for these gems, duggy.
