Notes:
*These tapes were given to me in October 1982, while living in Boulder,
Co. I was told they were a first gen copy off the masters.
I have a feeling these mics are Nak 700's and the deck is probably a D5.
I do not remember the tapers name.
Since there are no other audience sources available, I decided to seed
this version.
Special thanks to Jake Feinberg. Jake is solely responsible for getting me
to seed this show.

Tagging notes:
Show information is embedded within the header of each flac file.
It will display on any player capable of directly playing flac
files. If converted to wav during processing, all tags will be
stripped, however audio data will remain unaffected. If you must
transcode to a lossy format, do so directly Flac > Lossy.
Use ffp to validate audio integrity.
Md5 values will change if tagging is altered.

"I do not remember the tapers name." but there is a taper's name in the text info, the wonderful: Matt Field.
does any reason present itself to suggest mr field is not the taper . ?
this is a terrific recording and very good show ! |

This show was originally seeded by Tony Suraci, in March of 2007. The comment you quoted was written at that time. In May of 2008 Matt Field posted the following comment at db.etree:
"To whynotus and Nak700, this is my tape and I would be happy to seed the master at some point (a bit busy with kids at the moment) - totally cool by me to have it out there. ANd good guess as to who mastered it. It is a D5 master, Nak 300's with guns 19th row center - Matt Field ".
I am thinking I must have updated the lineage info as I was preparing to add the meta tags a couple of years ago. If you look at the text file in the database the newer info is not present. |

| Cool, finally a confirmation that this is Matt's recording. I am very pleased to see that he is OK with what I did and I hope that someday the master will surface. For the record this is the only time I ever transfered someone elses recording. I was under a bit of pressure to release this and felt that for the time the transfer method was well worth it and I was absolutely positive that this was a 1st gen copy. Funny thing is I do remember being in Matts apartment in Boulder in '82 - '83 with a guy named Eugene, sharing stories and masters. Perhaps this one got traded in one of those meetings. :) |
