I thought this one was a mislabeled clone of this one: http://db.etree.org/shn/122174 but the wavform is slightly different...

Nice thanks!
LAStubbe 2013-01-17 01:31:31
This was a weird show for me, capped with Jesse Jarnow handing out disco biscuits flyers and us gettin lost in the huge blossom lot.

Strange.

Thanks Terry.

I just added this to the etree database:

thanks!
metawhy 2013-01-17 09:44:15
thanks Terry!

I think this is the controversial show where Trey left the stage while the band was still playing Halleys. Probably had to piss bad.
gainesvillegreen 2013-01-17 10:15:55
Thanks!

Is this the best Halley's ever played?
LAStubbe 2013-01-17 11:07:54
Metawhy, yes! This is that show.

There was also a tripped out kid on the roof of the pavilion in the second set as well. We were on the lawn, it was crazy.

Strange show and night.

gainsville:

I'm assuming you have heard 12/7/99 Halleys? That one is my favorite.
funk_lin 2013-01-17 17:58:05
Agreed on this being a top tiered Halley's.

I remember being in SF post 10/7/00 and having a DAT of the Blossom 9/18/00 show with me for a friend who was a very seasoned phan.

He stepped out of the room for 10-20 minutes to take a call and the DAT kept playing into the middle of Halley's when he returned while the song had entered very Type II territory. He walked in the room and listened for 2 minutes looking a bit befuddled and turned to me and said - "What the hell is this?" I told him it was a Halley's jam and I will always remember the huge smile when he responded "Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

when all song structure is lost I am very happy

jdmatt68 2013-01-17 18:34:19
thanks terry!

I remember Trey leaving the stage and the rest of the band seemed to jam for a minute or two, then just stopped and left the stage. Truly an odd scene....
gainesvillegreen 2013-01-17 19:28:06
meta: sure, I have.

I ask because every once in awhile I'll read/be told this is the best ever played, and those folks are quite passionate about it (it also tends to be a top pick regardless of whether people were there or not which speaks volumes). I can't say I disagree with them, but Halley's is a song where I'm happy to have a half dozen versions at the ready rather than whittling it down to one.

Just wanted to check the pulse in the room.

funk_lin 2013-01-17 19:43:17
We had 10th row and saw whatever that was on stage go down...

What is most important is that Trey was feeling something during that Halley's that caused him to emote and fuel some fire in this Halley's.

A fiery Halley's.

Firemost.

metawhy 2013-01-17 19:57:23
OK, I'm going to listen to this Halley's right now. I love some type II action!
ManWhoStepped 2013-01-18 14:15:06
11-11-98 Halley's is great.
Roverandom 2013-01-19 07:41:07
11-22-97 Halley's deserves a mention too, IMO.
