|smokin set...a little crowd noise as folks were settling in for the night. plus i had a a stupid bitch come up and scream in the mic just because...once wasnt enough so about 30 seconds later she comes back to scream again, i shove my hand in her mouth and called her a @#$%^& @#$%^ and laughed as her beau puffed his chest at me (I ain't no small guy either).
gotta than ed and crew for helpin out!
great show great sound, except fist tune bass was in the tank.
this was the only other set i ran besides ttb.
|I thought Dr John fired his band after this xmas shows in NOLA. Who was in the band? Raymond Weber on drums?
|my bad, it was not the same line-up as last time i saw him w/ the lower unit...i do not think any band member intros were given.
|i had heard he knew management, but did not hear about the band. i was told he might not even make the blues thing in fl since it was booked under previous management ( and now hearing he'd fired his band too i can understand that uncertainty)...
|yeah i noticed the same at the blues fest in mizner ...
total different band then last time he snuck into south fl.
re manager/911 see
|thanks so much for sharing! greatly appreciate it! yeah, new band & management for the good Doctor. Note to new management: get a female backup that can actually sing.
|fwiw, the lady who sang backup and played the trombone was part of the lower 911. I also think the drummer was as well. Good show regardless. I will take the Iko as their soundcheck, just like the dead used to do when they opend shows with it.
